landscapes on horseback, trekking along forest trails and mountain

Co. Down, it's claimed, has more horses per head of population
than any other part of Europe. There are 19 Equestrian centres
with indoor and outdoor tracks and activities including trekking,
hacking, show jumping, racing and point-to-point. I have featured

The centre has about 15 quality horses and cobs to suit the more
experienced rider. They do not cater for beginners. They offer
one hour rides on quiet roads and track, and two hour rides in
Tollymore Forest Park. They also occasionally organize beach rides
for very experienced riders and can arrange longer rides for small
groups. Open 7 days, from 10 years.

A very safe and popular riding centre for both novice and experienced
riders alike offering forest trek, beach rides and country hacks
along traffic free routes. BHS approved.

Holding the reputation as one of the friendliest racecourses
in Ireland, horse racing has taken place at this course for over
300 years. A new covered grandstand and associated facilities
are now open, catering for over 2,500 people. Facilities include
Tote facilities, betting facilities, food, seating and tables
with free car parking. Magnificent views over the Mourne Mountains
and Drumlins of Down. All races are sponsored.
